Rock Island Grand Prix– September 5 to 6 – On Labor Day weekend, the Rock Island Grand Prix in Rock Island, Illinois will be a thrilling activity. Watch as racers go head to head down the streets of Rock Island at speeds close to 100 mph.
QCA Heritage Tractor Parade & Show – September 12 –This free parade and tractor show adds a touch of agricultural history to the Quad Cities. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a tractor show featuring antique tractors and equipment along with demonstrations at the John Deere Pavilion in Moline.
Taming of the Slough – September 19th – Whether you want to race as an individual or as a team, you can partake in three aspects to this escapade— kayaking, mountain biking, and running. It starts at 7:30 a.m. and ends with a post-race party. The Taming of the Slough will happen in Moline.
Brew Ha Ha – September 19th – While sampling hundreds of the most famous brews from Europe, food and live entertainment will make you dance all night long at LeClaire Park in Davenport.
Quad Cities Marathon – September 27th – Taking running to the extreme, the Quad Cities Marathon starts in Moline and will travel into Bettendorf and Davenport, Iowa, before heading back into Illinois and trekking through Rock Island and Arsenal Island.
Hot Air Balloon Festival – September 25th to 27th – With free admission for all ages, this is an event that you don’t want to miss. The Quad Cities Hot Air Balloon Festival allows you to go on tethered hot air balloon rides and watch each balloon take off and experience a balloon glow at night in East Moline.
Trinity Quad Cities Classic Regatta – October 10th – This annual series of boat races includes rowers from around the Midwest competing along the Mississippi River.
Fright Night – October 19th – Fright Night fulfills every kids dream; celebrating Halloween early. Kids can come to downtown Rock Island for a costume contest, pumpkin carving and arts and crafts all night long.
Lagomarcino’s Cocoa Beano 5K Race – October 25th – The Halloween theme never gets old. This 5k race features trails filled with scary themes and haunted roads. On top of it all, participants can look forward to Lagomarcino’s chocolate at the finish line in East Davenport.
Boo at the Zoo – TBD – Looking for a ghoulish good time? Check out Boo at the Zoo at the Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley. Children are invited to come to the zoo in their costumes to trick-or-treat, as local business and organizations will decorate the park and give out candy to celebrate Halloween.
